Majlis College NSS Wins Calicut University Special Appreciation Award for Socially Responsible Project

Puramannur: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Units 97 & 172 of Majlis Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Puramannur, have been conferred the Calicut University Special Appreciation Award 2025–26 for the Best Unique Socially Responsible Project.

The prestigious recognition was presented for the "Sneha Sparsham – 100 Wheelchair Project," through which the NSS units donated 100 wheelchairs to various palliative care units, extending meaningful support to patients with mobility challenges and promoting compassionate community service.

This academic year marks the introduction of the Calicut University Special Appreciation Award, instituted to recognize innovative and socially impactful initiatives undertaken by NSS units across affiliated colleges. Alongside the regular awards presented to outstanding NSS units, Programme Officers, and Volunteers, this special recognition celebrates projects that create a lasting positive impact on society.

The Sneha Sparsham initiative reflects the values of empathy, inclusivity, and social commitment, demonstrating how student-led volunteerism can make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.
