The Department of Education at Majlis Arts and Science College (Autonomous) was established in 2025, following the National Council for Teacher Education’s (NCTE) invitation to launch Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEP) in multidisciplinary institutions, as notified in 2024. In response, the college submitted its application and proposal to NCTE, based on which the Southern Regional Committee of NCTE issued a Letter of Intent (LoI) under Order No.: F.No.NCTE/SRC/2526202404232215/KERALA/2024/LOI, dated 03/04/2025.

As per the LoI, the college has proposed to offer one unit (50 seats) each for the following Integrated B.Ed. Programmes. It is important to note that the final recognition and approval of these programmes is still pending with NCTE and is subject to their review and acceptance of the follow-up submissions made by the institution.

Each programme is designed with a dual-major structure—one major being Education, and the second major and minors aligned with the respective disciplinary focus of each ITEP.
