The Department of Education, Majlis Arts and Science College (Autonomous) successfully organized "Beyond the Pages", a literary tribute to the legendary Malayalam writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer (Beypore Sultan), while also celebrating the 30th edition of "Between the Lines", the department's weekly reading initiative.

The programme featured inspiring talks by K. V. Nadeer, Writer and Journalist, and Saleem Kuruvambalam, Public Leader and Educational Visionary, who shared valuable insights into Basheer's literary contributions, humanistic values, and enduring relevance in contemporary society.

The event was graced by Dr. Mohammed Kutty K., Principal, Majlis College (Autonomous); C. P. Hamza, Syndicate Member, University of Calicut; Dr. Naseer Ali M.K., Head, Department of Education (ITEP); Dr. V. T. Jayaram, Head, PG Department of English; Sabira P.K., Language Educator; and Musthafa Mattathur, Principal, Majlis TTI.

The celebration featured a variety of engaging literary activities, including a Literary Quiz, Echoes of Reading, and Role Plays, providing students with an opportunity to explore Basheer's works through creativity, discussion, and performance.

The programme reaffirmed the Department's commitment to nurturing a vibrant reading culture, literary appreciation, and critical thinking among students.
