About College Autonomy
Majlis Arts and Science College has been conferred with Autonomous Status for a period of 10 years effective from 2024 Admission, as per UGC regulations. This autonomous status empowers the college to design and implement innovative academic programs while maintaining quality standards and ensuring academic freedom.
Autonomy enhances the institutional capacity to respond effectively to emerging educational needs and societal demands, fostering excellence in teaching, research, and holistic student development.

Composition
The Governing Body comprises 12 members representing diverse stakeholder interests:
- Management Nominees: 5 members (including Chairman)
- Government Nominee: 1 member from Higher Education Department
- University Nominee: 1 member from University of Calicut
- Educationist Nominee: 1 external educationist
- Teaching Staff Nominees: 2 faculty members nominated by Principal

Key Responsibilities
- Formulation and approval of academic policies and regulations
- Oversight of academic standards and quality assurance
- Approval of new academic programs and curriculum design

- Monitoring of academic performance and institutional effectiveness
Meeting Schedule
The Member Secretary shall convene meetings of the Governing Body at least once every six months to review institutional performance, approve policies, and ensure effective governance aligned with national educational standards.
