International Year of Millet
The International Year of Millets 2023 is an opportunity to raise awareness of the multiple benefits of millets, from nutrition and health to environmental sustainability and economic development. The Year will strengthen science-policy interaction, facilitate partnerships, mobilize stakeholders to take action on promoting and producing millets, and encourage consumption of millets by the general public. The department observed international year of millet and programme was inaugurated by Mr. Muhammed Sakeer NM . Principal Agricultural Officer, Malappuram on 27th November Monday in audio visual hall. A seminar on Precision farming in millet was conducted by Dr. Abdul Hkeem VM , Professor Department of soil and water conservation, Thavanur and seminar on Neutraceutical properties of millet was conducted by Mrs.Ligimathew, chief dietitian Moulana Hospital, Perithalmanna. A millet fiesta was also organized on the same day.

On December 13th 2023 PG Department of microbiology organizes career counselling series- Part 1 ‘An insight in to the field of food microbiology’ at AV hall.This event was inaugurated by principal Dr.Muhammed kutyy.This session was conducted by Rabeesh Bhaskaran (director of ENGLI5H) .This session provided valuable insights on TSI(EIAC Accredied) food safty and HACCP training for final year BSc students and PG students.

On January 11th 2024 PG Department of microbiology organizes career counselling series -Part 2 ‘’Medical coding -the future of health care” at AV hall.this sessios was conducted by Alex Sebastian (Medical coding trainer ,ANTONS Medicode,Angamaly).This session was informative and providing the students with a better understanding about the scope of medical coding

On January 24th 2024 PG Department of microbiology organizes career counselling series- Part 3 clinical &public health microbiology career pathways at preview theatre.this session was conducted by Muhmmed Fasil .T (MD-asap UAE).this program covered various topics like registration and health licensing exam for GCC countries.
WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on the 5th of June and aims at raising awareness and celebrating environmental action. This year's campaign is celebrated under the theme Beat Plastic Pollution. It highlights the need to take concrete action to achieve transformative change to tackle the climate crisis. The department conducted various activities like cleaning the campus and quiz etc. the students also participated in quiz competition conducted by other departments.
WORLD DONORS DAY- 14th JUNE 2023
The slogan for 2023 World Blood Donor Day campaign, celebrated on 14 June 2023, is “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.” It focuses on patients requiring life-long transfusion support and underlines the role every single person can play, by giving the valuable gift of blood or plasma. It also highlights the importance of giving blood or plasma regularly to create a safe and sustainable supply of blood and blood products that can be always available, all over the world, so that all patients in need can receive timely treatment.The department partcipated in blood donation camp conducted in association with Majlis NSS unit and Moulana Hospital, Perithaalmanna.
