Majlis Arts and Science College (Autonomous)


The Department of Education at Majlis Arts and Science College (Autonomous) was established in 2025, following the National Council for Teacher Education's (NCTE) invitation for starting Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEP) from multidisciplinary institutions, as notified in 2024. After processing the application and proposal submitted to NCTE by the college, a Letter of Intent (LoI) was issued by the Southern Regional Committee of NCTE under the order number: F.No.NCTE/SRC/2526202404232215/KERALA/2024/LOI, dated 03/04/2025. As per the LoI, the college has been proposed to start one unit (50 seats) each of the following Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEP):

  • B.A. B.Ed. (Preparatory) โ€“ 1 Unit (Annual Intake: 50)

  • B.Sc. B.Ed. (Middle) โ€“ 1 Unit (Annual Intake: 50)

  • B.Com B.Ed. (Secondary) โ€“ 1 Unit (Annual Intake: 50)

The final Letter of Recognition is currently awaited from NCTE, subject to their consideration of the follow-up submissions made by the college. Hence, the final recognition of the programmes is contingent on the approval of NCTE.
