The Faculty Development Centre was established in Majlis Arts and Science College in 2016 with the objective of enhancing the Quality of teaching among the young faculty members. The center is also aimed at introducing new technologies into the teaching learning process so that all the faculty members are familiar with the new trends in this field. In January 2018, the Faculty development center was renamed as the TEACHING - LEARNING CENTER, MAJLIS ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE (TLC MASC). The guidance for the functioning of the center was obtained from the teaching learning center, IIT, Madras. During the last five years, the center has organized a number of Faculty Development Programs for the teaching staff of our college and also for the neighboring institutions. The resource persons for these programs were eminent academicians from institutes such as IIT, Madras, Central University, etc. Faculty development programs were organized on Flipped teaching, Outcome based Education, Question paper designing, Research Methodology and Intellectual Property Rights.
Short term courses for Academic leadership and Education Management under the scheme of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Training, MHRD, Govt. of India, UGC Human Resource development Center, Aliigarh Muslim University, Aligarh was offered to 100 % of the teaching staff. Whenever there were reforms in the teaching learning system, the teachers were made well aware of this, and helped them for a smooth change into the new system. Even before the pandemic period, the faculty members were given training in making video lessons in the e-Content Development Center of the college, so that when the teaching learning process was changed into the on-line mode, there was a smooth transfer from the offline mode to the online mode. Many programs on ICT-enabled teaching were also offered to the teaching staff integrate technology into the teaching learning process.
